Tomato and basil sauce – a delicious sauce made as late summer delights

This simple yet delicious sauce relies on ripe tomatoes, fresh basil and olive oil.
Some sauces never get out of your mind. One such sauce that we are going to talk about in this post is Tomato and Basil Sauce that you can make whenever you have a few minutes and you will not mind spending those few minutes in your kitchen.You would love this sauce as a late summer delight. So, here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
• 3.5 kg ripe, fresh tomatoes (seeded and diced)
• A large handful chopped fresh basil
• 1 large onion, minced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 100ml olive oil

Last, but not the least, add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
First and foremost, take a large saucepan to cook tomatoes and basil over medium-low heat. Keep them in the pan until tomatoes are soft. Meanwhile, in medium skillet, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil; wait until onions are translucent.

It is now time to add onion mixture to tomato mixture and then sprinkle salt and pepper to your taste. Let the mixture simmer on low heat until it turns thick.
